I've pretty much always lurked on LJ, posting minimally and being a lazy, lazy bastard, but I've decided I need to use this damn journal (which was, y'know, the entire point of making it), only partly because it's not like I do much else with my free time but write, and I might as well share the writing with other people, right?

So, this top post is going to be the essential archive of everything I've written.

So, after working on two REALLY LONG one-shots, and one really hard to get out Secret Santa exchange, I need a change of pace. Incidentally, I have a whole slew of fic chunks I need to post! Yay! So, in the interest of procrastinating in an entirely productive way, I'm working on those instead of the Christmas fic, the really fun request from sirona_gs, or my SEKRIT POJEKT, I'm going to throw all of the other stuff I should have posted ages ago. Like, when my wrist was hurt several months ago and I decided to go on hiatus for NaNo. (Which, by the way, I have not yet looked at since finishing in November--though I have been working on my world-building!)

Anyway, the fandoms will vary. Yay, variable fandoms! This could take a while.

Notes: So, replaying KH1 (again, you'll totally never guess my favorite game series), I noticed that there is, in fact, one of the little princess cases placed in a much higher, more important-looking place. So, because I'm a masochist, I signed up for the Secret Santa exchange over at subarashiki_ds. I wound up with summersserenity and despite my initial nervous feeling, I managed to write something. (Yay!) On the other hand, I'm not entirely sure it's what summersserenity wanted. (Boo!) But that's, uh, totally normal with commissions and requests and stuff, right?

Also, everything I know about gothlolis and drag, I learned from the Saki-'verse. Specifically, a certain fic which is not linked on the page and which I seem to have mislplaced (aw, hell, and it was good, too). Anyway, the point here is I don't usually write crossdressing fic.

I have mad, irrational love for gothic-lolita fashion. If I had the cash, it's all I would wear. After reviewing the game to check specific examples of items, the brand is actually somewhat less lolita than I recall, though still very, very gothic.

Anyway, hobey-ho, here we go.

For whatever reason, How Sasuke And Naruto Became Friends is, without question, the most popular thing I have ever written. Maybe it's the high school AU, maybe it's the upbeat feel against the very, very, incredibly, oh-my-god-depressing feel of the show/manga right now, I don't know. The point still stands that it's ridiculously popular. (Maybe there was just a lot of traffic in the comm when I posted it?)

So, I'll do a running commentary for the thing, and you tell me what made you like it so much and what wasn't good enough--because, seriously, this is the only fucking thing ever that I was nervous about posting enough to try and find a beta. (I didn't find a beta, but I did make friends with the wonderful group over at The Fic Exchange.)

So, last entry, I mentioned a more SasuNaru version? And with more Sasuke? Yeah.

The way this was written was with a line from Kimya Dawson's Blue Like Nevermind as a prompt/theme for each section. I don't think that counts as songfic, but I was never good with songfic even in the fanbrat stage. (They're not even the same order as the song itself, proving that I fail at songfic.)

Also, the original idea was to insert the lines in prompt order at the beginning, like one massive song quote, but it came out as a non-sequitur. Instead, I'm throwing it at the end so there's at least the fic itself. And because putting the lines in place of linebreaks just looks icky. D:

Originally, I was going for interconnected ficbits, but these really aren't connected hardly at all. XD So, consider them separate.

I've never had to question my formatting method quite so much as with this one-shot. I originally had it Paragraph-parenthetical-paragraph, but I'm pretty sure that's an improper use of parentheses, so I thought italics, maybe? But I hate the way that looks. I also considered my usual section, ---, section format, but it looks too fragmented. OH MY GOD. FUCK THE FORMATTING ON THIS THING. SERIOUSLY. (It looks confusing and ugly no matter what I do. T-T)

Later, I made a Sasuke-sided version of something like this, but it wound up being proper SasuNaru, where this is just Naruto's-love-for-Sasuke on about the level of canon. (Which is still suspiciously homosexual, but could probably pass for straight so long as Kishimoto swears that's all it is. Word of God has a lot of power in fandom.) Also, the Sasuke one had real formatting, and not this confusing jumble of shit. GAH.

Warnings: Oh god. Blatant abuse of the English language (fuck the formatting on this thing, something fierce), uh, spoilers up to... Well, who won the Itachi vs. Sasuke battle, anyway, nothing more major.

Rating: Nothing worse than the blatant profanity in the A/N. But I'm giving it an "N" for "No One" because of the formatting.
Notes: I just wanted to write a paragraph about Kuchiyose. This thing spiralled out on its own from there. Also, Kuchiyose is the summoning jutsu, for anyone that reads/watches a different translation. The ending was not quite so poignant at the time of writing, but may feel that way in light of recent events. XD

There are a lot of kinds of people, but this rant is related to reviews--since this is my fanfiction journal, after all.

I love the Naruto manga lately (I quit reading somewhere just before I started to like Sai last time, and took a several-year vacation from the fandom) and I would love to see an epic where the boys are having to work for their happy ending together (I like a lot of ships, but SasuNaru will always be one of my favorites) but none of them are as up-to-date as I'd like, and well. I'm just not feeling the fandom love lately.

I'm a pretty big fan of Sakura (I know, weird, right? Seriously guys, where is all the Sakura-love?) and Team 7 in general, but again. I really want some straight up SasuNaru.

So, to remedy this, I sat down sometime yesterday with an idea for a what-if that spiraled into a straight-up high school AU with my usual day-in-the-life feel and more fluff than I had planned. (Seriously, I would kill for a good angst/comedy/epic, but those are hard to come by in general, much less in the Naruto fandom lately. Unless fandom is holding out on me. The whore.)

Warnings: Language, gay, Sasuke not being enough of an asshole in my head (it's passable characterization, right? Right?), too few speaking roles for characters who aren't Sasuke and Naruto. And, if you're still here, it's also high school AU. (Wow, I've never driven away my entire audience with warnings alone before!)
Pairings: Sasuke/Naruto. A few mentions of background pairings, as well (Yamato/Kakashi, Gaara/Lee, All-the-girls-but-Hinata/Neji, Hinata/Naruto, Fanclub/Sasuke).

Notes: For anyone who can't guess or doesn't remember, or who likes just perusing unfamiliar fandoms, it starts with that scene where Sakura bitches about Naruto being annoying because he has no parents. Also, I know all of... nothing about the Japanese school system, so if it seems vague or inaccurate, that's because it is. And every fucking flashback ever involving Sasuke and Naruto in the series involves flashing back to the accidental kiss.

I won NaNo (Yay, me!) but I kind of hate my characters and want them to die now. (Boo, me!)I also discovered GIMP, and as soon as I can decide on an acceptable level of aesthetic, I'll be posting icons. Right now, they're all Naruto (mostly Chapter 411 covers), but I'd like to do some Golden Sun ones.

Anyway, I've been writing Naruto between NaNo, with little break for anything else. I know. I still plan to get back to Silver Moon, but not right now.

So, I just saw the TWEWY AMV over at the comm, and I'm wondering... SINCE WHEN DOES THIS FANDOM HAVE AMVs? Why wasn't I told about this? (Okay, confession time: I suck at finding AMVs. I really do. Like, I can spend ALL DAY at amv.org and find little to nothing that interests me.) So, presumably people who aren't me know all about this, am I right? So, without further ado, you guys should totally start rec'ing me some TWEWY AMVs. I'll also accept Naruto ones, since that's totally my fandom of the week. I like Beat/Rhyme, Anyone/Neku, Shiki/Eri, Anyone/Naruto, and um... Actually, I'll take some more, but Anyone/Naruto is pretty much my fandom taste. (I really like Naruto/Sakura and SasuNaru, and Team7 as an OT3-6, depending on whether Kakashi, Sai, and Yamato are included.)

But, the real reason I'm here is because I'm kind of feeling down about my NaNo novel.
